We all know that the holidays are coming up and it’s time to start planning our holiday vacations. Whether you’re traveling abroad or staying in America, there are some essentials that will make your trip better. We’ve compiled a list of things to bring on your next vacation!
1. Wrap up warm
The weather isn’t expected to be as cold where you are going? No problem! Just make sure you are dressed in layers so that you can remove them if it gets too hot or put them back on easily if the temperature suddenly drops. If your destination is somewhere really cold, well…we hope you brought your winter clothes with you!
2. Sunglasses & Sunscreen
You’ll want to remember these essentials especially if you’re traveling abroad to a place that has particularly strong sun! You don’t want to spend all day inside because you’ve gotten sunburned, do you? Also important – bring sunglasses for both sunny and cloudy days because the light will still be bright.
3. Toiletries
This might seem obvious but there are a few things you should bring to use on a day-to-day basis. Firstly, pack a toothbrush because nobody likes having bad breath while traveling! You’ll also want to bring your favorite shampoo and conditioner so that your hair still feels soft while you’re away from home. We recommend bringing hand sanitizer as well if the place you’re staying at doesn’t have soap in their bathrooms. Last but not least, don’t forget to bring something that can keep you refreshed – whether it’s face wipes or lotion.
4. Hand sanitizer
Now that we’ve mentioned this essential, let’s go into more detail about how it can be useful during your trip. Did we mention that hand sanitizer is also known as the savior of many situations? You’ll find that people use it for a variety of reasons such as: clean hands after using the bathroom, refreshing before eating and cleaning things like keyboards. This might not be something you would think to bring on your next trip but we’re here to tell you otherwise!
5. Chargers and adaptors
If you don’t want to spend your whole vacation looking for places to charge your phone or other devices, make sure you pack enough chargers and adaptors! They can be easily found at stores around the world but we recommend packing them ahead of time so that you can stay connected (and sane!) throughout your travels.
6. A journal
Writing a journal entry a day can reignite your creativity and help you to organize your thoughts. We recommend that you bring a blank notebook with you when traveling because it can be a nice way to unwind at the end of the day.
7. A camera
A vacation is an amazing time in which to take pictures – whether they’re selfies or group photos with friends, we recommend capturing as many memories as possible on camera! If you have an iPhone or another smart device, consider downloading a photography app so that you can edit all of your shots before uploading them to social media (who doesn’t love prettying up their vacation photos?).
8. Something to read
You might not think that this is necessary but believe us: You’ll be grateful that you have something to read! We recommend bringing a book because it will give you an activity to do during downtime and it’s always good to get in some reading.
9. A map of your destination
Sometimes cell phone service can be spotty when traveling so we recommend that you bring a paper map with you. You’ll still be able to find your way around if your GPS stops working and we promise that the views don’t compare to the ones on paper!
10. Something comfortable
Last but not least, make sure you plan for comfort no matter where you’re going or how long your trip is!
We want to help you make your holiday vacation the best it can be. That’s why we put together this list of 10 things that will improve any trip, whether you’re going by yourself or with a group. Let us know if there are other items on our list that might have been overlooked!
